Get ready for a wild adventure at Barn Nature Center's Summer Camps! Our immersive programs offer youth the chance to dive deep into the world of animals, science, and outdoor exploration while interacting with over 40 species of rescued and re-homed animal residents.​
Throughout our week-long camps, campers will not only have a blast with games, arts and crafts, and exciting activities, but they'll also become animal caretakers, learning firsthand what it takes to keep our animal friends happy and healthy. From preparing their food to designing enriching activities, they'll be actively involved in every aspect of animal care under the guidance of our expert staff.
​But the fun doesn't end there! Campers will engage in interactive and educational games, tackle team-building challenges, and even learn the art of animal education.

​With 9 weeks of Summer Camps, each themed to offer unique adventures, there's something for every young nature enthusiast. Plus, we offer convenient before and after care options, starting at 8:00 AM and running until 4:30 PM.​
Recommended for youth entering grades first through sixth, our camps provide the perfect blend of fun and learning in a safe and supportive environment.​

All camps run from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, providing a full day of fun and learning. Campers should come prepared with a packed lunch, a reusable water bottle, and any weather-specific gear they may need. Don't worry about snacks—we've got those covered!
2025 Summer Camp Sessions
Art in Nature- $375
June 16th - 20th
Nature displays some of the most extraordinary colors, patterns and designs that the world has to offer. From bright blue tongues to rainbow feathers, our ambassador animals at the nature center are no exception. Through interaction with our exotic animal species on a daily level, campers will gain a deeper understanding of the complexity behind their fascinating physical traits that aid in their survival in the wild. Over the course of this week, campers will have the opportunity to unleash their creativity skills as they design beautiful crafts inspired by the wonders of art in the natural world. If your child loves both nature exploration and artistic expression, this week of camp would be the perfect fit for them!
Zookeeper Week I - $375
June 23rd - 27th
Being a zookeeper is a profession many children dream about. Here at the Barn Nature Center, that dream can start today with our Zookeeper Camp! Campers will be immersed into the world of zoo science as they learn how to care for exotic animal species from around the world. This week your child will discover what it takes to be a zookeeper through hands-on interactive experiences in animal care, designing exhibits, animal training, enrichment, and they will end the week with their own Keeper Talks. This week also features a visit from a professional zookeeper! If you have an aspiring zookeeper in your home, this is the perfect camp. Homes & Habitats - $375
July 7th - 11th
As humans, our homes are central to our lives by providing us with shelter from the Earths elements. Similar to humans, an animals home is an essential part of its survival in the wild. From burrows hidden deep underground to carefully crafted nests up high in trees, many species have a specific niche that supports their success in the wild. This week of camp is dedicated to diving into the world of habitats where we will explore the unique features that shape an animals decision in where it creates its home. Between working alongside our ambassador animals and exploring the native surrounding flora and fauna, campers will be fully immersed in the world of ecosystems. Additionally, campers will showcase their understanding of what they have learned through a week long diorama of a habitat of their choosing.
Vet Week I - $375
July 14th - 18th
Many children dream of being a veterinarian when they grow up. If that child is yours, send them over to the Barn Nature Center for a week full of animal fun! Campers will spend their camp days learning what veterinarians do and how to keep animals happy and healthy. To explore this, your child will learn bandaging, how to take vitals, animal body composition, the different types of veterinarians, and more! Not only will campers have a blast through themed activities and crafts, each day will include animal care and hands-on interaction. This week also features a special guest speaker, a real veterinarian, who will share their expertise with our campers.
Wilderness Explorers - $375
July 21st - 25th
Embark on an exciting and educational journey into the wild world! This week, campers will become naturalists as they venture outdoors to learn about the diverse ecosystems that surround us. In addition, campers will work directly with our ambassador animals and uncover the secrets behind their survival in the wild. With hands-on activities like identifying animal tracks, learning about native plant life, or mastering survival techniques, this week of camp will offer an unforgettable experience that will allow campers to learn more about the natural world that surrounds them while simultaneously inspiring them to become stewards of the Earth.
Animal Kingdom - $375
July 28th - August 1st
Explore the captivating world of the Animal Kingdom! From fur to feathers, scales to exoskeletons, and eggs to more, join us in uncovering the wonders of animal diversity. Campers will embark on an eye-opening journey as we delve into the science of classifying various animal species. Through engaging activities, crafts, and hands-on animal interactions, we'll delve into topics like animal taxonomy, biomes, predator-prey relationships, and fascinating adaptations. Enrich your child's understanding of the Animal Kingdom today—don't hesitate to join us!
Vet Week II - $375
August 4th - 8th
If your child has enjoyed other weeks of camp this summer and is looking to dive even deeper into the world of animal care, this is the week for them! Vet Week II takes campers on a more comprehensive adventure to learn what it takes to be a vet through themed crafts, activities, and hands-on animal interaction. The focus this week will be geared towards learning suturing techniques, how to use syringes as if administering medications, animal biology and physiology, and more. This week also features a guest speaker, a real veterinarian, who will share their expertise with our campers. Be sure to check out this camp's prerequisites below if you are interested in registering your budding veterinarian.
Zookeeper Week II - $375
August 11th - 15th
Being a zookeeper is all fun and games until you have to pick up animal poop constantly! If that doesn't deter your child from this career path, then sign them up for Zookeeper Week II! This week, campers will focus on the ins and outs of being a zookeeper, how to grow in this profession, the different aspects of a zoo and how it operates, and more. They will also delve deeper into husbandry, enrichment, diets, grooming, training, and keeper talks. With plenty of games, crafts, animal care, and hands-on animal interaction, this week of camp will equip your child with the tools they need to nurture their passion for animals! Additionally, this week will feature a guest speaker, a real zookeeper, who will share their zoo experience. Conservation Curiosity - $375
August 18th - 22nd
​Earth is home to millions of plant and animal species, each uniquely adapted to its niche and striving to survive. Unfortunately, many of these species face the looming threat of extinction due to various challenges. This week at camp, your child will embark on an exciting journey to become a junior conservationist, gaining the tools and knowledge needed to protect our planet and the incredible life it sustains.
Campers will explore diverse biomes and learn about the specific threats each one faces, from habitat loss to climate change. Through hands-on activities and interactive lessons, they’ll uncover the importance of environmental conservation and discover practical ways to practice sustainability in their everyday lives. By the end of the week, your child will understand what it truly means to make a difference as a junior conservationist!

Prerequisites for Vet Week II and Zookeeper Week II
To participate in Vet Week II or Zookeeper Week II, campers must attend at least one other week of camp to be familiar with our facility and animals. These advanced camps require prior experience to fully engage in hands-on activities.
